Hearst has named Susan K. Reed as editor-in-chief of O, The Oprah Magazine. Reed joins the magazine from Golf for Women where she served as editor-in-chief since 2002. Reed replaces Amy Gross, who is retiring.

Condé Nast today announced its plans to shutter Golf for Women, saying the magazine "will not support our long term business objectives.”

"Susan's experience in magazine's and in the literary world is the perfect mix for O, a magazine that is about expanding your heart and mind," Heart Magazines president Cathleen Black said in a statement. "Her perspective will further enrich O's content, and her leadership and ideas will help the brand build on its already legendary success."

O, The Oprah Magazine has reportedly seen a 10 percent drop in circulation over the last three years. Ad revenues increased slightly to $57 million during the first quarter this year over $56.3 million during the same period last year. Ad pages remained flat at about 382.
