Haymarket Media, 50-year old publisher of some 100 specialty titles including Management Today and FinanceAsia, has agreed to acquire Compliance Week, a paid e-newsletter with a $999 annual subscription price, from Boston-based Financial Media Holdings Group.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Compliance Week was founded by Scott Cohen and Frank Hertz—two of the creators of Boston.com—in 2002. They produce a paid weekly electronic newsletter, a paid monthly BPA-audited print magazine, a major annual conference and other live events, and a paid access Web site that includes news, analysis, research, searchable governance databases and other online resources.

The Jordan, Edmiston Group represented FMHG in the transaction.

The Haymarket deal is similar to the one the Financial Times pulled off in January, acquiring Money-Media, a producer of online newsletters for the global money management industry sector. JEGI represented Money-Media in that deal, too.
