Former Wiesner VP Amy Cosper hired to oversee content and partnerships.

Entrepreneur Media has appointed Amy Cosper to be its new vice president and editor-in-chief, overseeing content and partnerships for the company's magazine and online properties, Entrepreneur.com and WomenEntrepreneur.com.

Most recently, Cosper was vice president of business development at WiesnerMedia. Before that, she was publisher and editor-in-chief of Primedia's Satellite Broadband magazine.

Cosper replaces long-time editorial director Rieva Lesonsky, who recently left the company.

Entrepreneur has also hired Charles Muselli, formerly a senior business development manager at Sony Connect and consultant, to be director of business development, replacing Chuck Fuller who also left the company.

Entrepreneur has been on the block since April and is said to want $200 million. A source told FOLIO: last month that morale has been low as the staff remains in the dark on the sale process. However, the company’s president Neil Perlman told FOLIO: that morale was not low and that the company was performing strongly, with first-quarter ad revenue growing by 15 percent over the same period in 2007.

A real talent

Amy was a colleague at Primedia. She is a creative, high-energy editorial professional and should be a welcome addition for editorial staff, readers, advertisers and partners.

Just like Entrepreneur mag's previous editor, Rieva Lesonsky, Amy Cosper apparently has NO entrepreneurial background (Rieva says she didn't even know what the word entrepreneur meant before applying to work at EMI). Amy may be a very nice person and a "creative, high-energy editorial professional," but could you imagine Sports Illustrated hiring as their TOP editor someone with zero sports background? And if morale isn't so low, why are so many of Entrepreneur mag's top people simultaneously headed for the exits? That's obviously a question Neil Perlman should have been asked and answered.
Gimme a break

Scott, I made that comment in 1978 when very few people in this country knew what the word entrepreneur meant. Scott, you really should channel your considerable energies elsewhere.
No break deserved

Right, that makes sense. Convicted bank robber Chase Revel (not even his real name, it was one of several aliases used to hide his criminal background), named it Entrepreneur magazine because people didn't know what the word entrepreneur meant. I guess Rieva missed the memo that successful magazines use common words for their names to attract the most readers. As Rieva should know, the word entrepreneur predates Entrepreneur magazine by well over 100 years. The New York Times has used entrepreneur since 1851, the first time Oct 6, 1851, only three weeks after their first issue. If anyone should "channel his or her considerable energies," it's Rieva who should spend some time researching what she's talking about. But she obviously doesn't want facts to interfere with her historical revisionism. Is she also claiming she didn't know what Hustler magazine was about before she worked there after getting fired by Entrepreneur magazine (for reasons she won't disclose)?
You lost your caser twice

Scott--this will be my last comment, since you seem to have endless amounts of time to spread your distorted view. Since I'm the one who worked at Entrepreneur in 1978, I would be the best one to judge whether most people we came across knew the word entrepreneur. You can try to "shock" people by saying the word Hustler, but truly no one cares but you. And Scott you lost your court case twice. A few weeks ago the online newsletter that quoted you had to issue a correction. And the reason I was laid off by Entrepreneur in 1980 (more than 28 years ago, so this is relevant how?) is no secret to anyone.
