Canadian Vendor Develops ‘Editor-Centric’ CMS

Platform includes real-time generated tagging and SEO toolkit.

Looking to offer publishers a more “editor-centric” system for creating and managing Web sites and microsites, Canadian digital newspaper and magazine vendor Nstein Technologies has released WCM 4.0, an updated version of its content management system.

WCM 4.0 integrates Nstein’s text mining engine and its digital asset management system to allow “on-the-fly” semantic tagging and association of stories, the company says. Its open architecture enables integration with other CMS platforms and content repositories.

According to Nstein president and CEO Luc Filiatreault, this new version allows publishers to “gain more productivity from a slimming workforce—by improving efficiencies and competencies.”

New features include automatic search, real-time semantically generated tags and metadata, advanced XML site search and a SEO toolkit.

While a spokesperson declined to reveal which magazine clients have signed on for WCM 4.0, he said Nstein is targeting mid- and large-size publishers. Prices vary depending on a publishers needs, he said.
