Atlantic Snags Wired Exec to Lead Web Site
Following redesign of print and digital, online traffic continues to grow.
On the heels of an extensive redesign and overhaul of the 151-year-old magazine brand, the Atlantic has made a key hire on the digital side, tapping Wired executive editor Bob Cohn to be the editorial director of its growing Web site. It is a new position.
Cohn will report to editor James Bennet and will oversee the Atlantic’s digital editorial efforts, its prominent bloggers, Web-only features and new digital initiatives.
Cohn, who had served as the magazine’s executive editor since 2001, is the second prominent hire to come from Wired. In March, the magazine lured publisher Jay Lauf from the Condé Nast title to become the Atlantic’s publisher.
