VNU Business Media and Burrill & Co. are partnering on a new b-to-b media company called Burrill Life Sciences Media Group, the two jointly announced today.

The new company represents an industry expansion for VNU, which currently has a portfolio of b-to-b products and publications serving the media, entertainment and advertising industries. Burrill’s current life sciences group produces newsletters and industry reports, and sponsors annual conferences and events including The Personalized Medicine Meeting, The Stem Cell Meeting and The Biotech Meeting.

VNU Business Media CEO Robert Krakoff said in a statement that the new life sciences media group, which will include a portfolio of events, publications, newsletters and an annual biotech state of the industry report, will play the same role in the life sciences industry as VNU’s The Hollywood Reporter does in film and Billboard does in music.
