Time Inc. Sells The Progressive Farmer (posted 1/2)

DTN, a provider of real-time market, news and weather information services for the agricultural and energy markets, has acquired The Progressive Farmer from Time Inc. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Progressive Farmer has 600,000 subscribers and a total readership of 3.4 million, which is concentrated in the South and Midwest, and is the leading publication in the farm lifestyle market. Time Inc. also is in the process of selling 18 magazines from its Time4Media and Parenting divisions as it refocuses its strategy on digital media and on its core magazines such as Time, People, Sports Illustrated and Fortune.
