year, effectively doubling the amount of initiatives announced during
the same time last year, according to research released Monday at the
American Magazine Conference by the Magazine Publishers of America.
year’s digital initiatives include content-sharing partnerships,
integrated marketing initiatives, mobile content and Web site
redesigns. Some specific examples are Consumer Reports’ videos of
vehicle crash tests and crash test dummies, Hachette Filipacchi’s
online ad network acquisition and Hearst’s partnership with MySpace.
“Magazine Digital Initiatives” list is compiled by the association’s
Information Services Department, which collects information from a
variety of sources and assorted publisher press releases. A complete
list of digital initiatives, updated weekly is available on the MPA Web site.
