Report: Digital Magazine Initiatives Double in 2007
Magazines
announced 170 digital initiatives in the first three quarters of this
year, effectively doubling the amount of initiatives announced during
the same time last year, according to research released Monday at the
American Magazine Conference by the Magazine Publishers of America.
This
yearâs digital initiatives include content-sharing partnerships,
integrated marketing initiatives, mobile content and Web site
redesigns. Some specific examples are Consumer Reportsâ videos of
vehicle crash tests and crash test dummies, Hachette Filipacchiâs
online ad network acquisition and Hearstâs partnership with MySpace.
MPAâs
âMagazine Digital Initiativesâ list is compiled by the associationâs
Information Services Department, which collects information from a
variety of sources and assorted publisher press releases. A complete
list of digital initiatives, updated weekly is available on the MPA Web site.
