Former Penton Media Design Engineering Group senior vice president David Blansfield has been named president of F+W Publications' Magazine and Ancillary Division. At Penton, Blansfield managed a range of products including Web sites, data products, conferences and magazines such as Machine Design, Electronic Design, Internet World and Business Finance. He will be based out of F+W's New York office.
American Express Publishing has announced a pair of personnel changes:
• Jay Meyer has been named vice president and associate publisher of Food & Wine. Meyer joined parent company American Express Publishing in 2001 and most recently served as vice president and director of corporate sales. Before that, Meyer held several sales positions at Time Inc.
• Departures Magazine, the magazine for American Express Platinum and Centurion members, has promoted Ed Ventimiglia to senior vice president and publisher. Since becoming a publisher in 2005, Ventimiglia helped increase the magazine's revenue by nearly 60 percent. Most recently he served as vice president and publisher.
American Media Inc.'s Natural Health magazine has promoted Kay Douglas from design director to creative director. Prior to joining AMI, Douglas, a founding partner of design/editorial consultancy firm Douglas+Voss, helped design a number of products for Rodale, Reader's Digest and Meredith.
Time Inc.'s Fortune|Money Group has announced three changes to its marketing departments. Mary Gallatin joins Fortune magazine as global marketing director. Former FSB: Fortune Small Business brand development director Susie Bidel has made the jump to Money magazine as marketing director. At FSB: Fortune Small Business, Yodit Teklemariam has been named marketing director.
The Meredith Corporation has named Jennifer Mirsky to the newly-created position of editor-in-chief of women's lifestyle content of Meredith Interactive. Most recently, Mirsky served as vice president of editorial programming at NBC Universal's iVillage.com where she was responsible for leading the editorial teams of the Home & Garden and Food channels.
Angus Macaulay has been promoted to vice president and director of Rodale's Marketing Solutions. Macaulay will oversee the creation, sale and execution of integrated partnerships with specific marketers. Previously, he served as publisher of Runner's World.
Technology and marketing solutions firm Active Network Inc. has hired former Time Inc. publisher Lisa Bently as vice president of business development for the Active Marketing Group. Bently was group associate publisher of the Time Inc. Business and Finance Network, which includes Fortune and FSB: Fortune Small Business magazines.
The Tails Pet Media Group, a Chicago-based publisher of pet magazines about animal rescue and adoption, has announced a pair of staff appointments: Rebecca Hallmark as regional publisher of LA Tails and former Prevention marketing and creative services executive director Lorraine Sakli has been named regional publisher of City Tails. Both magazines are set to launch in December.
