Yet another editor has left the Portfolio team. Managing editor Christopher Jones, who managed portfolio.com, has offically resigned from his post, but will stay on as a consultant until the end of November, a Portfolio spokesperson says. Although circumstances surrounding Jones' departure are unclear, reports say he was unhappy and clashed with editor-in-chief Joanne Lipman over hiring choices. His replacement has not been named.
Sports Illustrated Group vice president of consumer marketing Jonathan Shar has joined CNNMoney.com as general manager. In his new position, Shar will oversee the business operations and all Web site development. Reporting to Fortune/Money Group president Vivek Shah, Shar will also serve as the chief business-side liaison to Fortune/Money Group partners at CNN.
Len Burnett, vice president and group publisher of Vibe, has resigned and will return to Uptown where he will serve as co-CEO, Mediaweek reports. Burnett co-founded Uptown in 1994.
IDG Communications has announced a pair of personnel changes:
â–Ş IDG Research Services vice president Janet King has been promoted to general manager. King joined IDG in 1989 as a PC industry analyst. She had been promoted to vice president three years ago.
â–Ş Charles Lee has been promoted to vice president of business development in corporate sales for IDG Communications. Previously, he was vice president of program management.
Vincent Krsulich has been appointed to advertising director of National Geographic Kids. Krsulich joined the National Geographic Magazine Group as an account manager in 2003. In 2005, he was promoted to eastern advertising manager of National Geographic Adventure.
The Meredith Corporation has named registered dietitian Regina Ragone as food director at Family Circle. Prior to joining Meredith, Ragone was vice president of nutrition at Hunter PR.
Sid Evans has been named editor-in-chief of recently launched Garden & Gun magazine. Previously, Evans served as editor-in-chief of Bonnier Corp.â€™s Field & Stream, where he earned the magazine seven National Magazine Award nominations.
Folsom, California-based e.Republic has promoted Emergency Management Magazine associate publisher Scott Fackert to publisher. He will be responsible for print, online, events and custom publishing national advertising efforts.
