The Mary Berner-era of talent recruitment continues at Reader's Digest.

Berner, the president and CEO of Reader's Digest Association, announced today that More editor Peggy Northrop will become editor-in-chief of the U.S. version of Reader's Digest. Northrop, who will also serve on RDA's executive committee, had been More's editor since 2004.

Northrop replaces Jacqueline Leo, who is leaving to "pursue other interests" after six years at RD.

Northrop joins Reader's Digest ahead a redesign and "repositioning" of the magazine, group publisher Eva Dillon noted Friday.

Prior to joining Meredith's More, the bespectacled Northrop was editor-in-chief of Rodale's Organic Style and held senior editorial positions at Vogue, Glamour, Redbook, Real Simple and Health.

Meanwhile at More, a "comprehensive internal and external search" for Northrop's replacement is on, according to a spokeswoman for the magazine.
