Counter Terrorism Magazine to Launch in 2008

Topics to include ‘radical Islamic threat.’

It's been more than six years and several seasons of 24 plotlines since 9/11, but it seems the field of counter terrorism is finally getting another magazine.

Security Solutions International, a Miami, Florida-based group that develops and delivers counter terrorism training for first responders in the U.S. and abroad, is planning to launch a magazine next spring.

The Counter Terrorist will be a full-color glossy, initially distributed to more than 10,000 verified SSI subscribers. Topics the magazine will cover include infrastructure protection, school shooting threat assessments, intelligence gathering and what the group calls "the Radical Islamic Threat."

"What's interesting about The Counter Terrorist is that it will offer important information to police, firefighters, emergency responders and more. We hit all sectors," says SSI president Henry Morgenstern. SSI was formed nearly four years ago. "Terrorism is a topic that affects everyone, and hasn't gone away since 9/11."

Morgenstern hopes also that the magazine will offer advertisers the opportunity to speak to a "hard-to-reach industry." Advertisers in the launch issue include companies like Protective Systems and Adams Industries Inc., an aircraft manufacturer.

Morgenstern tapped longtime editor of the Police Marksman, Connie Bond, to head up The Counter Terrorist as editor and publisher.

Not Really True

The industry has had its own mag for over 15 years. If anything this looks to be a clone of the famed IACSP published mag The Journal of Counterterrorism & Homeland Security International. do a google search if need be, here' an example from this mag, www.iacsp.com/publications.html now you tell me? So for this company to blatantly say that this industry is finally getting its own magazine is pretty much a lie in my opin and they really did not do much research on this matter ... Barry, Sec Pro
Not the first magazine in the industry

SSI should know better since they used to advertise in the real "FIRST magazine for the industry": The Journal of Counterterrorism & Homeland Security International. They knew perfectly well they were not the first. At this point they are the LAST. Thank you. Sincerely, Steven J. Fustero/Director of Operations www.iacsp.com

Not a new magazine but ANOTHER magazine

"It's been more than six years and several seasons of 24 plotlines since 9/11, but it seems the field of counter terrorism is finally getting another magazine." I can see what you are reading and interpreting as this magazine saying that the industry is getting its own magazine - but if you read it carefully it does not state that it is getting its own but ANOTHER magazine in the Counterterrorism forum.

Considering Legal Action Against SSI/Lanham Act Violation
Submitted by Steven J. Fustero on Wed, 04/02/2008 - 15:04.

Since this Announcement by Folio, there has been confusion in the market place and the owners of the Journal of Counterterrorism & Homeland Security International (18th Year of publication) is considering legal action against SSI under the Lanham Act for unfair competition due to the similarity of their mag name to ours and for false statements. Minorityh Business
Submitted by David Warfore on Sun, 06/08/2008 - 15:32.

I think this is the same SSI company that has a listing on their website that says they are a minority company that will help other companies get government contracts from DHS by partnering with them, but if you go to their website, there are two white guys who run this Israeli Training operation--Henry Morgenstern and Sol Bradman, two jewish/American citizen guys. I hope they are a minority business, because I know there is alot of corruption as far as pretending to be a minority company in order to get gov't. contracts in a very competitive field--training.
