Bobit, Advanstar Make Moves in Aftermarket Automotive Industries
Bobit Business Media has acquired Hotrod & Restoration Magazine and its related trade show, and Advanstar Communications has launched an aftermarket automotive Web portal.
Bobit announced yesterday afternoon its purchase of Hotrod & Restoration Magazine from Fullerton, California-based Hotrod & Performance LLC. The magazine, which targets businesses including hot rod retailers, builders, restorers, engine builders, fabricators and machine shops, will join Bobitâ€™s automotive aftermarket media group. The Hotrod & Restoration Trade Showâ€”which attracts more than 3,000 attendees and 200 exhibitors each yearâ€”is held annually in Indianapolis.
â€śThrough this acquisition we are all â€¦ even better positioned for a lot more cohesive growth in the future,â€ť Hotrod & Restoration Magazine publisher Debbie Lewis said in a statement. Bobit Business Media was represented by Corporate Solutions of Westport, Connecticut. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Advanstar Communications announced yesterday that it has launched Search-autoparts.com, a Web portal for the aftermarket automotive business. Content on the site will be aggregated from Advanstarâ€™s motor sports group of titles including Aftermarket Business, Motor Age, Off-Road Business and ABRN. Advanstar says it will provide â€śup to the minuteâ€ť coverage during next weekâ€™s Auto Industry Week events, with 17 â€śAuto Show Digital Dailyâ€ť newsletters covering the SEMA, AAPEX, CARS and NACE shows.
