CMPMedica Launches Free Search Engine to Connect Physicians with Medical Info
United Business Media's CMPMedica has launched SearchMedica.com, a free, Web-based service that connects physicians and other medical professionals to credible, medical Web sites and online journals through vertical or specialty-specific search engines. SearchMedica.com offers vertical or topic-specific search engines for physicians and other medical professionals specializing in psychiatry.

It plans to next release a vertical search engine for primary care, including family practice and, throughout next year, SearchMedica plans to unveil vertical search engines for other specialties, including oncology. Healthcare professionals are encouraged to register to receive updates about new content and tips on how to use various advanced tools within SearchMedica.

Action Pursuit Group Launches Interactive Extension of Diesel World
The Action Pursuit Group, a division of Apprise Enthusiast Media, has launched a fully interactive digital extension of Diesel World magazine to provide a marketplace and community for diesel enthusiasts. The site will feature expert commentary, analysis of current events, upcoming trends, and "how to" sections for buying, repairing and tuning diesel cars and trucks.

Car and Driver Expands Web Site
Hachette Filipacchi is expanding the Web site for its Car and Driver magazine, adding a new buyer's guide with more opportunities for advertisers. It also will launch a mobile Web site to complement its online and print versions of Car and Driver next month.

CarandDriver.com will now feature previously unpublished editors' test sheets and actual recorded performance data from the road tests. The enhanced online buyer's guide will provide users with shopping information including specs on more than 350, 2007 vehicles with direct links to editors' road tests and reviews. It also includes audio podcasts of the weekly Car and Driver radio programs as well as special events.

Cadmus Signs American Academy of Pediatrics to Five-Year Contract
Cadmus Communications has been awarded a five-year contract from American Academy of Pediatrics to provide a full range of outsourced publishing production services for the academy's three publications.

Cadmus will provide full issue management services for AAP including copyediting, composition, XML coding, printing, binding and distribution for both printed and online versions of AAP publications. Cadmus also provides commercial reprint sales, commercial reprint production, and medical textbook publishing services for the academy under separate agreements.

CNNMoney.com Launches New Online Video Platform
CNNMoney.com, a venture of CNN, Fortune, Business 2.0 and Money magazines, launched a new online video platform that will offer users a unique library of streaming video content covering business and finance. As part of the launch, a video module with eight featured video segments will be posted on the site's home page at all times.

The segments produced for the site will derive from key stories from each of the four magazines housed on the site and stories from the editorial staff of CNNMoney.com. In addition, business news from CNN's broadcast networks will be available directly through the newly-launched video player.

Online Content Marketplace Mochila Signs New Member Organizations
Mochila, an online content marketplace launched in March of this year, has signed dozens of new member organizations over the past four months bringing its total membership to 95. New members include, Publishing Group of America, Greenspun Media, Hachette Filipacchi, Advanstar Communications, Bridal Guide, New York Magazine, Scientific America, House & Home Magazine, Technofile Magazine.

Current member Hearst Magazines has also announced it will be launching content into Mochila from the following titles: Cosmopolitan, CosmoGIRL!, Country Living, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Harper's BAZAAR, House Beautiful, Marie Claire, O The Oprah Magazine, Seventeen, SmartMoney, Popular Mechanics, Redbook and Town & Country.

Hollywood Reporter Launches Portal Feature On Web site
On the heels of Web site redesign, the HollywoodReporter.com has launched a new portal called For Your Consideration Studio Showcase to supply readers with information about studios and film companies, while allowing the studios and film companies to expand their marketing presence online. The new portal can be found at HollywoodReporter.com/FYC.

Earlier this month, The Hollywood Reporter launched a major redesign of HollywoodReporter.com, which now includes site-wide integration of The Reporter's database, streamlined video, easier navigation and the Showbiz 50 - The Reporter's new index of the leading entertainment-sector stocks that is updated in real time.

IDG Launches Web Site for Parents of Young Gamers
IDG Entertainment has launched GameProFamily.com, a Web site designed to provide parents with the insight needed to make smart game buying decisions. The goal of the site is to provide timely and authoritative facts that clearly define the content of questionable games that are on the market today or are soon to be released.

Information will be broken into three sections: Dad's Watch, examining the level of violence, sex, mature language, and drugs in a game. Mom's Take looks at any social or psychological concerns with a game. The Kid's Pitch provides insight into what your child may tell you about the game to try to persuade you to buy it for them.

Also included in the site is a PlaySmart descriptor that provides insight into the ESRB rating for a particular game and why it was rated the way it was, and a list of alternative picks for each of the games reviewed.

MPA Website Wins a 2006 'Standard of Excellence' WebAward
MPA's website, www.magazine.org, has won its second "Standard of Excellence" WebAward in three years from the Web Marketing Association. The Web site won in the association's category, scoring a 9 out of 10 in the content category and 8 out of 10 in the design, innovation, interactivity and copywriting categories.

RollingStone.com's Online Video Collection Now Searchable Through Blinkx.com
Video search engine blinx.com has partnered with RollingStone.com, the online edition of Rolling Stone magazine, to make its complete online video collection fully searchable from blinkx.com. Users will have access to the latest music videos as well as exclusive clips of "Rolling Stone Original" performances.
